New Employee Orientation
There are three orientations designed to introduce you to your new job, as well as SCCCC and its component programs:
Orientation by Supervisor
On the first day of employment, you will meet with your supervisor, receive information about your new position and a New Employee Packet, which contains a variety information and materials to read and complete. At this time, you will have an opportunity to review your orientation schedule, fill out necessary personnel forms, read a variety of material, including the agency Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual, and ask questions you may have.
Training and Benefits Orientation
If you are a full-time employee working at least 20 hours per week, you must attend a training and benefits orientation during your first month of employment. The agenda includes information about health, dental, vision, and life insurances for employees who work at least 30 hours per week. Topics for employees working 20 hours or more per week include SCCCC's retirement plan, Participatory Decision-Making, confidentiality, information technology, affirmative work environment and other subjects.
Benefit orientations are held on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 9:00 to approximately 12:00 p.m. at Administrative Services, 195 Harvey West Blvd in Santa Cruz. You will receive an invitation to participate. Be sure to call 469-1700 x113 to confirm your attendance.
Agency-wide Tour
Agency-wide tours are held at specified times throughout the year to acquaint new employees with the other components, programs, and facilities which are part of SCCCC. You will meet key staff, learn about the agency, and a bus will deliver you to several different program sites.
