SCCCC has an internal grievance process (Personnel Policy #275) to resolve complaints from employees of perceived unjust or injurious employment conditions.
- Prior to filing a grievance, employees are strongly encouraged to try to resolve the problem through dialogue with their supervisor or by participating in an informal pre-grievance mediation process with the assistance of the HR Representative. These options must be exercised within 15 working days of filing a formal grievance.
- A grievance must be filed within 15 work days of the perceived unjust or injurious action.
- The employee may learn about the Grievance process by contacting their Component's Grievance Representative or the HR Representative to discuss the process.
- To start the formal grievance process, the employee contacts the HR Representative and is assigned a Grievance Representative.
