Benefits

We at Santa Cruz Community Counseling Center are concerned about employees’ health and well-being. With this in mind, SCCCC employees, Component Directors and the Board of Trustees, have created a benefit package that includes health and dental care for you and your family, medical prescriptions, time away from work for illness and/or recreation, and your long-term financial security.

Holidays

11½ paid days off for holidays. To view or download the current Holiday Calendar, please go to the Calendars page.

Sick Leave

12 sick days per year with a maximum accrual of 192 hours for full-time employees and pro-rated for employees working less than full-time.

Vacation Leave

17 days per year vacation for 1-3 years of service and 22 days per year for 3 or more years of service. Each of these can be accrued to a maximum 160 hours and 208 hours respectively for full-time, regular employees. Note: vacation benefits are prorated for part time employees.

Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance Benefits

Full-time, regular employees working at least 30 hours per week and their qualified dependents are eligible. Coverage begins on the first day of the month following completion of a 90-day waiting period. See Policy #222 in the Policies and Procedures section for details and more information.

Flexible Spending Plans

Two flexible spending plans are available: one for healthcare expenses and one for dependent care expenses such as day care. Starting July 1, 2008, employees may set-aside up to $2500, pre-tax, for qualified healthcare expenses not covered by SCCCC's benefit plan, and up to $5000, pre-tax, for employment-related child or adult dependent care expenses. Retirement

Regular employees working at least 50% time are eligible to participate; the Agency matches employee contributions dollar-for-dollar up to a set amount each year determined by Leadership Council. In addition, employees may enroll in other tax-sheltered annuity plans; these plans, however, are not matched or sponsored by the Agency.

Life Insurance

$10,000 life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage for eligible employees. Employees may also choose to purchase voluntary life insurance coverage for themselves and qualified dependents.

Other

Unemployment Insurance, Social Security, and Workers Compensation. In addition, staff are reimbursed for business use of personal vehicles at the rate determined by Leadership Council and based upon the rate paid by the County of Santa Cruz.
