The Santa Cruz Community Counseling Center (SCCCC) has been serving Santa Cruz County since 1973, providing a broad spectrum of social services that heal, connect and nurture the mental, educational and social well-being of 6,000 children, individuals and families annually. We do this through our four service components: Child and Family Development Programs, Youth Services, Community Recovery Services, and Community Support Services.
Community Support Services (CSS) is a place of acceptance, hope and healing. We serve individuals who are facing the loss, poverty, and challenges associated with mental illness or experience as a foster youth. Our staff value and build on the strengths and inherent worth of each individual.
Come and work with the team at Community Support Services! On-Call Counselors are always in demand at our programs. CSS provides day and residential treatment, independent housing services, money management and case management to adults with mental illness. Working on call at CSS is often a good way to get to know about programs you may be interested in working at regularly. On call staff are considered “In House” applicants when permanent jobs become available.
- On-Call Counselors assist other staff in facilitating house meetings, groups and activities, and in providing individual support to residents and program participants.
- The On-Call Counselor may be trained to complete progress notes, service plans and other clinical paperwork, and may need to provide transportation.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent life experience.
- We are looking for people who are interested in supporting individuals with mental illness, according to their individual needs, to enhance the quality of their lives.
- On-Call staff are often needed on weekends, holidays and days when regular staff members are sick or on vacation.
- Valid CDL and good driving record pref.
- Wages: $11.82 - $14.99 /hour, depending upon experience. Additional 50¢/hour for Spanish bilingual competency.
