On-Call Counselor - Crossroads Group Home | Youth Services

 

Main objective is to help supervise and care for adolescents in both residential and mental health components of the program. Counselor actively participates in all daily activities and helps maintain program structure. Counselor helps support the residents and maintains the program structure. On-Call staff needed. On-Call Counselors | Community Support Services

 

Come and work with the team at Community Support Services! On-Call Counselors are always in demand at our programs. CSS provides day and residential treatment, independent housing services, money management and case management to adults with mental illness. Working on call at CSS is often a good way to get to know about programs you may be interested in working at regularly. On call staff are considered “In House” applicants when permanent jobs become available.



Overnight Awake Counselor On-call - Tyler House | Youth Services

 

The overnight awake counselor is responsible for covering the night shifts at an adolescent drug treatment group home when staff that is regularly scheduled cannot cover due to sick, vacation, or Holiday time off. Counselor supervises clients and provides therapeutic interventions with clients and family. Must be available to work night shifts and stay awake. This is an on-call position.



Part-Time Counselor for Residential Youth - Tyler House | Youth Services

 

Part-time Counselor responsible for working morning or afternoon shifts at an adolescent drug treatment group home. Primary responsibilities would be supervision of clients, grocery shopping, and taking clients to doctor’s appointments. Providing group and individual counseling and therapeutic interventions. Bilingual preferred.



Community Based Registered Nurse | Community Recovery Services

Community Recovery Services, a component of the Santa Cruz Community Counseling Center, has an opening for an experienced registered nurse.  At the Santa Cruz Community Counseling Center, we believe that, with support, individuals can live full lives and find positive solutions to the challenges that come their way. Community Recovery Services (CRS) provides counseling and treatment services in residential and outpatient settings for individuals and families who experience life difficulties associated with substance abuse.

The Primeros Pasos program is designed to provide wrap-around support to peri-natal women and women with young children who are at risk of losing custody of their children due to substance abuse.  The Nurse position is a key member of the project team and will be primarily focused on health assessments for participants and children and coordination of medical services. The position is based at the CRS/Fenix Services’ office in Watsonville.



Part-time Cook and Household Coordinator | Community Support Services

Under close supervision, the Cook will be responsible for planning, shopping for, and cooking a nutritious dinner for residents of a 32 bed homeless shelter.  The provision of substantial servings of well prepared healthy food is an important contribution to the resident’s strength and well-being, and the meals will reflect the Cook’s correlation of nutrition to the resident’s physical, mental and emotional wellness.  The Cook will work within the therapeutic environment and have extensive contact with the residents of the program, who may have a psychiatric diagnosis and/or substance abuse problems.  Services will be delivered with dignity and respect for each individual resident.



Temporary Early Head Start Home Visitor | Child & Family Development

The Early Head Start home visitor provides individualized services for children birth to three and their families through a collaborative program that focuses on substance abuse and drug/alcohol treatment issues.



Part-Time Night Counselor for Residential Youth | Youth Services

Work as a residential youth counselor at an adolescent substance abuse treatment facility in Freedom. The Night Counselor stays awake overnight to provide supervision and support to the residents.  The youth will be sleeping throughout most of the shift.   This is a part-time position about 20 hours per week. Weekend shifts may be required.



Bilingual YouthCare Counselor | Youth Services

The bilingual field-based counselor provides direct counseling and support services in both English and Spanish to children ages 3 to 21, and their families.   Based in North Santa Cruz County, this position will serve clients who have Medi-Cal and requires maintaining complex mental health charts, including diagnosis, assessment and treatment planning. Counselor will work under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.



Mental Health Crisis Counselor (80% time) | Community Support Services

Under general supervision the Crisis Counselor will respond to requests for support for individuals in crisis in the community and in other residential settings.  The role of the counselor will be to assess the level of care needed and facilitate access to needed services, with the goal of preventing hospitalization.  The counselor may provide crisis intervention, short-term clinical support, and/or support for transition from higher level of care to independent housing. Services will be delivered with dignity and respect for each client, and a commitment to their right of choice.

Counselor | Community Support Services

Casa Pacific is a 12 bed residential program for adult men and women, dually diagnosed with a serious mental illness and substance abuse problems.  Located in Watsonville, it is licensed and certified by the State of California.   The program is operated in conjunction with Community Connection’s Mariposa Center, which provides vocational counseling and support for all the residents.  Under supervision, the Casa Pacific Counselor is responsible for establishing a close working relationship with the residents, and to provide support and assistance to assist them in planning and attaining their goals.  Special focus will be on the resident's needs related to housing, physical health, issues of chemical dependency and mental health, and reentry back into the community. Services will be delivered with dignity and respect for each resident, and a commitment to their right of choice.

JOB OBJECTIVES:

The job objective of the Counselor at Casa Pacific is to establish a close working relationship with the residents in the program. This relationship is important to create a safe environment and a partnership that will help the individual work toward psychiatric stability.
