Child and Family Development Programs

River Street Shelter:

Crisis House:

Santa Cruz AIDS Project:

Transition Age Youth Programs:

  1. Clothing in good condition (larger sizes for both men and women, especially button down shirts, ties, undershirts, jeans, gloves and socks)
  2. Sleeping bags
  3. Backpacks
  4. Bikes
  5. Housewares for young adults moving into independant housing (towels, sets of dishes, glasses, silverware, cookware, bedding, blenders, toasters, microwaves, mops, brooms, etc.)
  6. Books for young adults
  7. Toiletries
  8. Gift cards (food, movies, Boardwalk, etc.)
  9. Wall-mount flat-screen TV for our Resource Center

Second Story:

  1. Cups and glasses
  2. Plates and bowls
  3. Shelving or drawers to fit an Amana freezer-on-top refrigerator

Youth Services

  1. 8-passenger vans and/or station wagons in good working condition
  2. Bus passes
  3. Gift Certificates for food, clothing, youth needs
  4. Gift Certificates for youth incentives and rewards at Ross, McDonalds, Burger King, Erik’s Deli, coffee shops, bakeries, movie theaters, CVS, K-Mart, Target, Capitola Mall, etc.
  5. Yard maintenance equipment (lawn mower, weed whacker, branch saw, electric hedge trimmer, shovels, garden tools, hoes, rakes)
  6. Outdoor activities (soccer balls, basketballs, baseballs, nets, footballs, badminton, horseshoes, ping pong tables, etc.)
  7. Flat-screen TV and DVD player that's compatible with a VCR
  8. Someone to do brick work/tile work on the patio at YSN
  9. Art supplies
  10. Board games
  11. Paperback books that are of a positive tone for the lending/trading library
  12. Old hardcover books to decorate the shelves (old encyclopedias, leather-bound volumes, etc.)
  13. DVDs appropriate for teens
  14. Nice couches, including a matching sofa and loveseat
  15. A wooden park bench for the memorial garden
  16. Dark wood end tables
