As part of our array of services, Community Support Services (CSS) operates residential treatment programs. All of the programs embody the mission of CSS and promote a vision of wellness and recovery. Each residential program has a unique treatment focus. All referrals to the residential programs are made by County Mental Health.
Casa Pacific
Casa Pacific is a 12-bed residential program for individuals with mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse issues. The program is part of an innovative project which is centered around work and meaningful daily activities as the core of the treatment approach. Residents attend the Community Connection’s Mariposa Center to learn vocational skills and participate in various volunteer or work crew activities, to increase their independent living skills. Other activities include socialization, recreation, accessing community resources, recovery skill building and individualized attention to assist each resident in reaching their personal goals.
El Dorado Center
El Dorado Center (EDC) is a 16-bed, community-based treatment program for individuals who are in crisis and in need of intensive residential services. Most residents are stepping down directly from the Dominican Hospital Behavioral Health Unit into an unlocked, more home-like environment, as they continue the healing process in preparation for transitioning back to community living. EDC staff provides structured activities, community outings, individual counseling, and crisis intervention around the clock as needed.
Transition House
Transition House is a 10-bed crisis residential program for individuals in crisis who are in need of an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization. The program seeks to provide a healing environment where residents can receive the support they need to stabilize and move out of their crisis state. Services provided include process groups, individual counseling, assistance with independent living skills and connecting to the community. Treatment approaches include Motivational Interviewing and utilizing the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) materials. A County psychiatrist is available for medication monitoring and management.
