Pioneer House Dual Diagnosis Day Program

Pioneer House is a dual diagnosis day treatment program for men and women who have both psychiatric disabilities and chemical dependence issues. The program offers daily structure and a focus on psycho-educational groups, process groups and self-help support networks. The facility is open from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Using a strengths-based approach, Pioneer staff work with participants to develop an individualized service plan focusing on the individual's goals related to sobriety, housing, and community integration. Pioneer staff also collaborate with County Mental Health Coordinators and psychiatrists to ensure a coordinated treatment approach.

Most Pioneer participants attend the program 7 days per week, and live at the River Street Shelter, receiving 24-hour supervision and additional support in the evening and on weekends at the shelter.  A few slots are reserved for individuals who have housing and attend the program 3-5 days per week.

All referrals to Pioneer House are made by County Mental Health.
