Money Management Program
The Money Management Program (MMP) provides representative payee services for individuals in Santa Cruz County receiving Social Security benefits who, because of their disability, need assistance in budgeting and managing their money. In their role as Representative Payee, MMP counselors work closely with clients and their Coordinators to create a monthly budget and process checks to pay rent and bills in a timely manner. Together they work to ensure that each client's basic needs for food, clothing and shelter are met. MMP Counselors also provide individualized counseling to selected individuals to assist them in improving independent living skills, including money management.
To be eligible for the Money Management Program, individuals must be referred by County Mental Health or the Homeless Person's Health Project.
